Hi Vina, Rachel and team, Happy New Year! We’ve received Chiko’s documents, thank you so much 🙏 Chiko already seems right at home with Bali’s climate now 😀. We’re just being patient finding a running space that fits his size while we wait for the house in Gianyar to be finished 😅, a bit crowded with four doggies!

Indonesia requires a valid import permit, an ISO microchip, a current rabies vaccination, and a FAVN titer result of at least 0.5 IU/ml taken within the last 12 months. Pets are inspected on arrival at the approved entry airport in Jakarta (CGK). Current regulations do not allow direct pet imports from Australia into Bali, so all pets must first clear Jakarta quarantine. Once released, our local transit team safely delivers your pet to Bali or destinations across Indonesia.
The fastest realistic timeline is around 6 weeks if your pet already has an ISO microchip, a current rabies vaccination, and a recent FAVN result. Most relocations are completed within 7 to 8 weeks because at least one part of the process usually still needs scheduling.
We don't promise unrealistic timelines. A proper relocation process takes time to complete safely and compliantly. Indonesia accepts FAVN results within 12 months of the blood draw, although the laboratory turnaround itself usually takes around 3 weeks.
For most owners, the most confusing part is usually the timing between the FAVN test and the flight booking. We map that out clearly before anything is confirmed.
On a tight deadline? We offer a priority express service for urgent relocations. We fast track everything possible, including permits, lab scheduling, flight coordination, and dedicated handling. FAVN and biosecurity minimum requirements still apply, but we compress every possible step around them. Contact our team for express relocation options →
Yes. Pets arriving from Australia complete a mandatory quarantine period of around 7 days at a government Quarantine facility (IKH) in Jakarta. This is required under current regulations, and there are currently no exemptions to this requirement. Quarantine officers inspect all paperwork, microchip records, and vaccination details on arrival.
Once quarantine clearance is completed, our local transit team safely delivers your pet to Bali and destinations across Indonesia. The most common reason for delays is incomplete or incorrect documentation. That's why we manage all paperwork well before the flight and can also arrange post quarantine boarding if needed.
A FAVN result below 0.5 IU/ml does not mean your pet is unprotected. It simply means the laboratory could not confirm sufficient antibody levels from that sample. There are several ways this is usually resolved. A booster vaccination followed by a new blood draw 2 to 4 weeks later resolves most failed results. Using a different approved laboratory may also help — Atlanta KSU and AHL Greifswald are both accepted by Indonesian authorities, and some laboratories may return different results from the same sample. In some cases, waiting a little longer before retesting allows antibody levels to increase naturally, and a follow up test at around 6 weeks is usually successful.
For Australia to Indonesia relocations, there is no 180 day waiting period reset. Once a FAVN result passes, it remains valid for 12 months. We still recommend testing as early as possible. Speak with our team →
Your quote includes vet coordination, microchip and vaccination verification, government paperwork for both the Australian export and Indonesian import process, import permit fees, an IATA compliant travel crate, airline freight costs, airline documentation, customs and quarantine handling, and door to door ground transport from your veterinarian in Australia through to your address in Indonesia.
Not included are rabies vaccinations themselves, the FAVN blood test, and treatment for unrelated medical conditions discovered during the pre export veterinary check.
Indonesia requires an ISO 11784/11785 compliant 15 digit microchip. If your pet has an older non ISO microchip, we can implant a compliant ISO microchip alongside the existing one. Both microchips can safely remain in place. This may add around one week to your relocation timeline if the new microchip needs to be recorded before the rabies vaccination is documented, as the vaccination record must reference the ISO chip number.
Bali is one of our most common destinations. Current regulations do not allow pets to fly directly from Australia to Bali (DPS) due to Bali's rabies affected zone status. All pets entering Indonesia from Australia must first arrive through Jakarta (CGK), the approved entry airport for cats and dogs under Indonesian quarantine regulations. After clearance in Jakarta, our local transit team safely completes the journey to Bali, including Sanur, Ubud, Canggu, and destinations across the island. Door to door service is included in your quote.
The same process applies for destinations across Indonesia, including Yogyakarta, Bandung, Medan, Lombok, and Makassar. Pets first clear Jakarta quarantine before we arrange the final domestic delivery. Contact us for a detailed quote based on your destination and travel timeline.
Tell us about your pet and travel plans, and we'll send you a written quote via WhatsApp.
